Hilly Saturday

Yesterday I got some practice in on local hills.

1. Under the Oxted viaduct to Limpsfield Chart Golf Club
2. Goodley Stock Rd
3. Tandridge Lane South to North
4. Tandridge Hill Lane which is a category 4 climb
400m of climbing over 38Km

Added in a clip of me talking plus changed format to H.254. This format seems a lot better than AVI which I was using. It seems clearer and is much fast to process. I missed out a dissolve or two on re-editing - it's another thing to work on. I need a tripod too for the non moving shots. It's on my list as it would help with the Fujifilm X100T, but I have to watch the pennies.

Tewkesbury and the Malverns Ride 6th June

I'm planning my next ride which is an Audax event of just over 100km see the route below

It's my first 100km in one day this year. The route isn't too bad except for the up and down of the Malverns and I think it could be a lot worse.

This is a training run for the Dartmoor Ghost which will be a real challenge in July. I have yet to pencil in any events of August and September but I'm keen to do one long ride a month.

Garmin Etrex Screen Kaput!

Not a total disaster but my Etrex went flying off it's mount the other day and now the screen is a goner. The device itself still works but as this is a cheaper Garmin model I don't know if it's worth getting the screen replaced.

I was a bit annoyed with myself as I had started using a tether but the time I didn't ... well there you go.

I have a bit of a problem as I'm doing a 100km Audax run a week on Saturday in the Malverns and whilst some kind of GPS is not required it is useful if you're in unfamiliar territory.

I don't really want to buy another unit so I am contemplating going 'old skool' and using the written instructions and a map!
