owie Meers has found the perfect way to support her melons - using old bras. She whipped out her undergarments to hoist up the fruit after her melon plants started drooping. Supportive customers then helped by sending in more than 40 unwanted brassieres to her farm during the summer. The mum of three says she found the answer to her problem 'right under her nose'

Not a long cycle but ok. Cycled back to King William IV St. but dock full, so nipped round to Charing Cross where got in on the last free space. Lack of docking space could be a problem. At Soho Sq there were a few spaces but not many.

The Saturday after a 'week' on the Boris Bikes

Three days on the bikes. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. I think I've done ok though today my legs do feel tired. The bikes strike me as a viable alternative to the tube and buses. It 's actually enjoyable though the weather has been kind. I have a small rucksack by Speedo which is very good but it doesn't have the space of my larger Karrimor. Also I could do with smart trousers with cargo pockets.

Back Home in Deepest Sussex

Tried the bikes Tuesday and did have one glitch but otherwise ok. Thursday + Friday totally glitch free. This is a great scheme, the best thing to happen to London in ages.

The bikes outside Barts

Platform 4 london bridge

Bikes are very solid but run well. Gearing fine for general use. Hardly used 1st. Hardest thing is getting used to riding in traffic. Maybe not the ideal mode of transport if attending a meeting needing posh clothes. Still boris does it. 'nuff said ;)
